Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
