I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
